Halloween is one of the few times a year where we can munch on chocolate, candy and totally indulge in the fun, sweet aspects of the holiday with very few repercussions.
Growing up, whenever the kids in our family would get back from trick-or-treating, we would dump our newly collected edible treasures all across the floor. Our poor pup would come to join in the fun and sniff around for something he could eat, but unfortunately, chocolate is one of the very ingredients pets should stay away from. Perhaps it wouldn’t have been so painful to turn our mini schnauzer away if we had treats for him, too.
If you have small children coming to your house this Halloween with loads of candy, or even if you don’t, it is always a good idea to have a little something extra sweet on hand for your puppy or kitty as well. We certainly don’t want to neglect our furry friends on the holidays!

Candy Corn Dog Treats – from Pet Coupon Savings
Candy corn at times can seem pretty polarizing; either people love it or they hate it. If you’re in the camp that loves it, you might enjoy making your pet homemade candy corn treats. Don’t worry – they don’t have that waxy, soft taste like the rest do. When your kids or grandchildren are munching on their newly acquired Halloween goodies, you can provide a handful of candy corn to Fido so he can munch, too.
Pumpkin Spice Puppuccinos – from Lola the Pitty
If you fall into the category of people that haven’t yet gotten enough pumpkin spice, these pumpkin spice puppuccinos may be right up your alley. With only three ingredients – milk, cinnamon and pumpkin – your pooch will be on her way to slurping these down in a matter of minutes.
